Get fit for charity in 2012!
A 5km Fun Run for all the family will take place on Saturday 4th February at 10am from St Mary's Church, Putney along the tow path to Hammersmith Bridge and back. The run takes place to support the valuable work undertaken by Wandsworth Womens Aid - part of Hestia Housing & Support's women's services.

Oak Foundation support for ex-offenders
In the last few weeks Hestia has secured the support of the OAK Foundation to deliver a new and exciting peer training and mentoring service to ex-offenders.
The idea for Back on Track originated at a conference Hestia hosted in January 2011 about our work supporting offenders. Several of our service users contributed to this event and expressed the view that training and support for people adjusting to life after prison needs to be peer-led in order for it to have an impact. Peer support was said to be powerful because peers empower and innovate, they have an ease of communication and a sense of empathy with other offenders.

Local hero honoured for community work
Sadiq Khan MP and Wandsworth Mayor Councillor Jane Cooper joined over a hundred service users, staff and local community figures at the Hestia Age Activity Centre this week to honour Celeste Nri OBE, the founder of the centre, and pay recognition to the huge contribution she has made to older people’s services in Wandsworth.
