Accessibility statement

Validation

This site validates to XHTML 1.0 Strict. It is mostly compliant to WCAG 1 AA standards, but complies to A standards where AA was not possible.

Structure

The site is structured semantically and has no inline styles or javascript technology, using instead external CSS and DOM compliant progressive enhancement style techniques.

We use cascading style sheets for visual layout. We only use relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified ["text size" option] in visual browsers.

If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable. When viewed without CSS there is a quick navigation menu which allows the user to skip to the main menu as well as the content and footer whenever they choose to do so: it appears as the first set of links on the page. Any information conveyed through the use of color is also available without color (i.e. text based).

Forms are handled on the server side and are not reliant on the client scripting capabilities.
