Volunteering opportunities

Volunteers help to enrich the lives of our service users and also help us to deliver our services more effectively. They bring invaluable experience and enthusiasm to our work, and help strengthen our links to the communities we serve. They also enable us to make the best use of our scarce resources.

Hestia aims to create a positive environment for volunteering so it is an enjoyable opportunity for people to make a contribution. We welcome volunteers from amongst our service users, former service users, local residents, and people with skills they would like to share.

As a volunteer, you will gain valuable work experience, learn new skills, meet new people, get motivated, and most importantly, have fun!

In July 2010, Hestia signed up for the London Volunteer’s Management Charter and completed the London Volunteer’s Management Health Check which ensures that all the essentials are in place. We are now working towards becoming an Expert in Volunteering.  The GLV assessor commented that “In general, you seem to be doing a very good job – organised, professional, supportive, and flexible.”

Angelina used to be a service user at Hestia; click here to read how vounteering at Hestia changed her life.
