Mental health services

Each year, Hestia provides housing and support for over 600 people with severe and enduring mental health needs in 7 London boroughs. Our services include care homes for people who need 24-hour support, shared houses for those who are able to live more independently, and floating support services to help people to continue living in their own homes.

We focus on helping people to gain the skills and confidence to realise their personal potential. This includes helping them to improve their daily living skills. We hellp them improve their cooking, cleaning, and shopping skills, as well as helping them to manage their money effectively. All service users are encouraged to participate service user involvement activities. For instance, in our residential projects, they can attend regular service user meetings, where they can influence the way the project is run and resolve any complaints. They can also plan regular group activities, such as social outings, and in-house meals and cooking sessions.

We also support service users in accessing local services and amenities, so that they can enrich the quality of their lives. This can include exercising at local gyms and swimming pools, going to local cinemas and theatres, or attending day centres where they can build friendships. We also encourage people to improve their skills and employment prospects by enrolling in local adult education and employment training programmes, so that they can build a future outside the mental health system.
