Hestia’s self directed support services

Hestia can help people through the self directed support process. We realise that self directed support can be confusing for those involved and have launched a new service to provide people with:

Information and advice

We can give people information and advice on how they can get more choice and control over their support, and who can help them to get this choice and control.

Help with support planning

We can help people to create their support plan by finding out what they need and want in their life, making the best use out of their personal budget, and explaining what can and cannot be included in the support plan.

Brokerage

We can help people to arrange the services and goods they need to realise their support plan. This is referred to as ‘brokerage’. For example we can liaise with agencies on your behalf and help you to find a personal assistant.

Financial support to manage personal budgets

We can provide support for people trying to manage their personal budget. For example we can help by setting up a bank account for the personal budget, setting up payroll to enable people to pay for personal assistants, and maintaining financial records.

* All these services are available to people aged 18 years and above who receive support from adult social care services, or care for someone who does.
